8.25 Fertig für den Schulbus. Ready for the school bus.

9.30 Der Radweg zu meinem Termin führt mich durch die Nachbarschaft, vorbei an Rasenbowlern und durch Grünanlagen zu meinem Ziel. To get to an appointment, I bike through the neighbourhood, pass some lawn bowlers and take the community trail.

12.30 Nach langen Gesprächen hab ich meine neuen Ideen für Kurse am Veranstaltungszentrum bewilligt bekommen und Verträge unterschrieben. After some brainstorming and discussions, I sign the contracts for some new programs and workshops at the community centre.

1.30 Supermarkt-Stop auf dem Weg nach Hause. Ich frage mich, ob ich den 8 kg Sack Reis wohlbehalten auf dem Rad nach Hause kriegen könnte ... Grocery shopping on my way back home. I wonder if there's a chance to transport that 8 kg (17.5 lbs) bag of rice safely home on my bike ...

3.30 Vom Schulbusstop zum Briefkasten und einen dicken Umschlag aus Deutschland finden. Sofort auf der Veranda öffnen. From school bus stop to the mailbox, surprise envelope from Germany. We have to open it right away at the front porch.

4.30 Kleiner Snack für zwischendurch: Haferflocken-Schoko-Kekse aus dem Waffeleisen. Snacktime: Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies fresh from the waffle maker.

6.00 Ich verliere beim Klimmzugwettbewerb auf dem Spielplatz und bewundere dann lieber die sich schon verfärbenden Blätter. I lose at the pullups competition on the playground and admire the first fall colours.

7.30 Das Kind liest vor, und gemeinsam stolpern wir über uns unbekannte Baseball-Begriffe :-). The kid reads aloud, and we come across some unknown baseball words :-).

8.30 Endlich am Computer noch ein paar Seiten korrigieren und versuchen, sich in das Kommunikationssystem der Schule einzuloggen. Ohne Erfolg ... Finally at the computer to edit a couple of pages and to try to log into the school communication system. Without results ...
